Namaste, I'm Vanessa

My journey with Yoga began in 2002 in my local school hall. It was like a light bulb switched on within and I was able to learn self-acceptance and a whole lot of patience with myself and all others. The journey isn’t always easy and sometimes you go forwards one step and back three, it is a practice of discipline. We begin with the physical self as this is the easiest layer of our being as we can move and feel our body, we then learn to listen more deeply to this body, and from there we evolve with our breath, with our Mind and our inner being.

I soon found that Yoga was integral to a balanced way of life for me personally and was encouraged to go into teaching, and so my teaching of Hatha Yoga began with one class January 2009, around the Ashbourne area. This has grown into 5 classes a week, teaching 1-2-1 clients, teaching workshops as well as Weekend Yoga Retreats in the UK and Retreats abroad. All of my teachings are for mixed ability students, from beginners to more advanced, offering methods of Yoga to suit all who wish to study this ancient tradition of finding inner peace and balance within their life.

About my classes

 All of my classes are well structured offering a balanced practice and including all aspects of Yoga. My training allows me to offer a wide variety of styles in my classes and for private clients. This means that the physical practice is made available to all body types, it can help firstly to overcome any physical ailments by strengthening the body, re-aligning posture and giving the student the opportunity to learn about their own bodies structure, its limitations or its ability to go further. The art of yoga

Yoga is a process of looking inwards and learning to consistently remain in the moment, for this moment is all that matters, it’s a psychological journey as well as a physical one. Your practice teaches you to become more invested in yourself, by listening and understanding your body better. Developing your breath to help with issues such as anxiety and learning to be mindful, to respect your emotions, to live with all aspects, that make you, you. Remember your teacher can guide you, but ultimately the journey is yours and yours alone, we are all on our own different paths.
